Job Summary

The Financial Analyst is responsible for reviewing and entering Payroll Costing Allocations and Payroll Accounting Adjustments for changes identified during effort review. This role works closely with the OSP Financial Management team to ensure the accuracy of reported effort and compliance with federal regulations and institutional policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter Payroll Costing Allocations and Payroll Accounting Adjustments centrally for changes in effort as needed.
  • Review charged effort for accuracy.
  • Verify that reported effort complies with federal regulations and institutional policies.
  • Analyze future effort allocations and communicate potential need for changes.
  • Collaborate with OSP Financial Management team to ensure institutional effort compliance.

Technical Capabilities

  • Project Management (Intermediate): Planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives.

  • Financial Analysis (Intermediate): Evaluates businesses, projects, and budgets to determine performance, stability, and profitability.
  • Written Communication (Intermediate): Writes clear, detailed, and comprehensive status reports, memos, and documentation. Understands effective composition, such as having the subject stated in the first line of a paragraph.
  • Communication of Results (Intermediate): Communicates results and recommendations to customers concisely and non‑technical. Clearly states implications and next steps. Presents analysis, ideas, and findings using appropriate data visualization tools such as Word, Excel, Tableau, and PowerPoint.
